There are typically two things that get setters in trouble during the recruiting process.

First, many teams are NOT recruiting a setter in any given class. Identifying this can be extremely difficult unless you have someone asking those specific questions (someone like myself). I have several athletes that regularly get questionnaires and camp invites from schools that are NOT actually recruiting a setter. Second, there is the issue of "fit". This can come in many forms, but one of the biggest ones is whether or not a school runs a 5-1 or a 6-2 style of offense.

To try and help resolve some of these bumps we have created two tools that I hope will help with your recruiting process.

First, we have our needs list which you can download using the link below. This is a list we update twice a month.

The second (and newest) resource is a download that shows each D1 school and what style of offense they ran this past season (2023). While I can't tell the future and know for certain what style of offense college coaches will be running 2 or 3 years from now. The information is meant to help guide you in a few certain directions. We looked at statistics to gather this information. Where there seemed to be some discrepancies, we have tried to make notes there. My plan is to update this list at the end of next fall so that it will include the offense types run by schools for the 2024 season. Potentially there will be patters, potentially there will NOT be patters. Again, this is meant to be used as a guide and communicate which schools will most likely be running what style of offense down the road. Roster changes and coaching changes have the biggest impact on this. Again, I hope you find this information helpful with your recruiting process. You can purchase the list using the link below.

There are a lot of other resources for you on this page, including the PRI Blog archive.
