Do You Know What I Know?

Do you know that the NCAA Volleyball Championship is this weekend?
Hopefully you answered "yes" to that question. If not, then at least start HERE
Then look HERE.
But for the past few weeks the D1 and D2 NCAA Volleyball tournaments have been going on. These events are the culmination of the fall volleyball season. They are basically the reason I do this and they are hopefully the reason you are playing club volleyball.
From a recruiting perspective I probably should have seen more emails go out during this time. Even for younger athletes, if you want to get your name to go across a coach's phone, now isn't a bad time to send out some quick emails; or at least it was a good time for that. A simple "good luck" email would suffice during this time. Not much is really needed to be said as college coaches getting ready for their tournament matches probably didn't have a ton of time to do recruiting emails. But the gesture is there and they would see your name. That's what counts.
If you did send an email out to a school in the last couple of weeks, did you mention that you saw they had a match coming up? Or that they won their previous match against...?
As a volleyball athlete you are always looking for ways to stand out to coaches. Go back to Conference tournament week - did you notice a school playing in the finals of their conference tournament? If I was playing in a conference tournament or lucky enough to make it to the NCAA tournament at any level, then an email from a recruit that KNEW what was going on with our team and program would move up a couple notches on my board. College coaches are always looking for athletes that WANT to be in their program. That one quick email and communicates you know what's going on can make ALL the difference.
Now, I don't know if you can play at Wisconsin, Pitt, Louisville or Nebraska - but if you can, then you should let them know you'll be watching.
If you missed out on mentioning to the staff at West Texas or another D2 school you're interested in, there is no harm in mentioning something now.
If something big is happening with a volleyball program and you don't mention it...
Do you know?
