Do Coaches Have Favorites? What Athletes Can (and Can’t) Control
I think about this concept quite a bit during the fall and club season. It comes up in conversations passively sometimes, but it comes up none the less. I won't try and beat around the bush too much with this topic. Yes, coaches have their favorites. Just like you have your favorite coaches. Potentially your favorite coaches were the ones that treated you like you were their favorite? But there can be lots of reasons that an athlete (in any sport) has a favorite coach.

It's NOT a 'One and Done' Process
*Originally posted 3/1/2022 I wish it was that simple. I wish different variables didn't constantly come up during the recruiting process. If you're expecting one article, blog post, phone call or meeting to be sufficient in helping you get through your recruiting process till the end, you're probably going to miss out or be lost at some point. The "P" in PRI stands for "Parallel". The idea is that I am coming alongside families and athletes throughout their entire proces

The "Are You A Fit?" Checklist
*This ended up being less of a checklist. My goal is always to help parents and athletes with the recruiting process. I hope something like this is helpful as you evaluate where you want to play college volleyball. I'm not perfect by any means. There are lots of variables in recruiting - that is something that isn't necessarily mentioned in this post. If you've been around me the last 6 months you know that this is one of my soapboxes. I've talked about it with club coa

Championship Mentality
It just looks different. I talked about this the other night with some Recruiting Coordinators/Coaches. I've heard a lot of "motivational" things lately. Maybe because it's 2 years since the death of Kobe Bryant, the NFL playoffs are going on, or NCAA basketball tournament season is upon us. One that hit me was: "Many athletes want to be a part of the result, they don't want to be a part of the process" and another... "Don't be upset by the results you didn't get from the
