It's certainly not written in stone as their are always TONS of variables and everyone's recruiting process is different. This does seem to be the general timeline though for D1 and D2 schools.

Emails have a funny way of disappearing sometimes.

I often explain to families and athletes that recruiting is two sides of the same coin. Athletes and coaches often will do the same things to each other. Coaches will "ghost" athletes and athletes will "ghost" coaches.

It's certainly a busy time of year. We've got practices going on as teams prep for USAV and AAU Nationals. Pre-pre-tryout clinics are happening. Vacations. Lessons. Lake days. Plus you've got to plan what your summer looks like - with tryouts, college camps and your high school camp and tryouts!

If you've been following along with the PRI Blog Pass the last couple of months I've been collecting data on where athletes in Texas are playing. I'm planning on doing a few more of those posts, because I think the information is interesting and worth pondering when you're thinking about WHERE you want to play or in WHAT conference. Questionnaires are certainly a thing. They are necessary to a point, but here are some thoughts I have about questionnaires.

If you follow any D1 programs or college coaches on social media, you might have noticed that they were excited to be out recruiting again this past weekend. Coaches traveled across the country for the first time in over a year. It's exciting to be back out recruiting for sure. Recruiting was one of my favorite pieces of coaching in college. I would definitely be excited to get on the road again if I had been stuck in a dead period for over a year.
