They Didn't Get the 1st One

Emails have a funny way of disappearing sometimes.
I have been saying for the last 4 years that athletes need to send at least 3 emails to a school before the athlete assumes the school isn't interested in them. I'm going to say that this is still the case, but I'm going to add to it a little bit.
If you sent an email 6 months ago and didn't get any response, it's possible they never saw it. I hear this from athletes all the time, "I emailed them already." I then ask the athlete, "how long ago did you email them?" Usually the answer is over a month ago.
There is something to be said about consistency in communication. It really helps. There are all sorts of reasons that they didn't see one of your emails:
It went to their Spam and because they're in the middle of the season or recruiting they didn't check.
It's in there feed somewhere, just towards the bottom.
It went to their folder where all the other SR and NCSA emails go.
A coach NOT responding, even to a 2025 athlete AFTER June 15th could be for even more reasons.
Talking to a college coach about an athlete last week and he told me that he didn't have an email from her. I knew she had sent it and so they SHOULD have it. The coach checked all of their spam and it never showed up. So I had her resend it. The crazy part was that she didn't send it a month ago, she had sent it less than a week earlier. That means that it either got lost in the shuffle in less than a week, or it just never arrived (It is the internet). What happens with all of the emails that you send out? How lost is the email you sent 2 months ago? Did they at a minimum mark you in UA?
Now, I'm not saying that you need to send 50 emails on back-to-back days. That would be overkill probably. But when it's crunch time in the summer and you're trying to figure out camps and if you should go to a school, waiting two weeks to reach out again to a school is probably waiting too long.
As I have said many times before, you let coaches know how interested you are by how often you contact them. If you really need/want to get in touch with a school, don't wait. Assume they didn't get your first email. When it comes to the "3 Emails Rule" I think it still applies here. You need to be reaching out to schools and putting yourself in front of them. EVERY school handles recruiting differently. Some might not really respond to any email you send them because they want to see you play live first. But if you only email them once, when it comes to evaluating live at a Qualifier, you might not be on the top of their list to see.
It's not easy, but it's worth it!
